MILLENIUM LAB SERVICES
Millennium Labs was established by Danny's Enterprises Company Limited to provide testing and design and development services for both DECL and Superpave Ltd.
The objective was to develop new products and improve on existing ones with a goal to maintaining an adherence to the required specifications in all projects that we carry out.
Its focus is mainly on asphalt testing and asphalt mix design and on developing cold in place recycling project designs
The lab has the only Wirtgen foam lab in Trinidad where Cold in Place recycling designs are done.
We are outfitted to perform marshall stability, tests , Dynamic cone penetrometer tests, Nuclear density tests, Specific gravity and Sieve analysis gradation .
The laboratory ensures that incoming raw materials are of the correct specification and fit for use in the manufacture of asphalt.
The Investment in the laboratory is an extension of the managing directors vision for our companies being the leaders in promoting new technology into the local construction industry and being ‘the best in asphalt’
Any inquires please contact Danny's Enterprises Company Limited.
PENETRADAR SERVICES
DECL invested in a Penetradar system in 2009 for the following reasons:
To acquire data for the purpose of doing proper road designs as the company has moved into this area
To provide a service to government agencies and private firms who want to ensure that work done is to specifications.
To improve our own standard of work by having more information available so as to improve planning and minimize errors.
What is ground penetrating radar
Unique Type of Downward Looking Radar Designed for Penetration of Solid Materials such as Soils, Concrete, Asphalt, etc.
Applications include Detection and Identification of Buried, Metallic and Non-Metallic Objects, Geotechnical & Geophysical
Survey, Infrastructure Evaluation, i.e. Pavement & Bridges
What is penetradar used for?
1.Bridge deck evaluation
Assess Condition of Asphalt-Covered and Exposed Concrete Decks
Asphalt-Cover Thickness and Depth of Rebars
Detect and Locate Corrosion Induced Delaminated Concrete, Debonded Overlays, Freeze-Thaw Damage and Waterproofing Membrane Failure
2.Pavement evaluation
Identify Pavement Structure: Number of Layers, Type of Material
Determine Layer Thickness
Detect and Locate Voids Beneath Rigid Pavement
Detect Areas of High Subsurface Moisture
Detect Deteriorated Concrete
GPR detects Areas of High Accumulation of Moisture Beneath Pavement or Tunnel Walls Based Upon Reflectivity at a Material Interface
Capabilities of Ground penetrating radar (GPR)
Locate Buried Utility Lines
Locate Foundations
Buried Tanks & Drums
Others
How is GPR Utilized in Pavement and Bridge Deck Management
Prioritize Maintenance
QA/QC - Determine Contract Requirements Compliance
Quantitative Information to Assist in Engineering Decisions
Routine Inspection to Monitor Subsurface Condition (Biannual Inspections)
Database Information (PMS)
Preventative Maintenance
Diagnostic Inspection (Cause of Failure)
